On Bonaire the reef begins right at the shore, and few places in the world make diving feel so effortless. Dive Friends Bonaire has seven dive centres across the island, and the nearest are within walking distance of the apartments. You begin your day underwater without needing the car first.

Shore diving. With an unlimited shore diving package you collect and return your tanks at any of the seven locations, whenever it suits you. You explore the dive sites along the coast at your own pace. Nitrox is available at every location.

Boat diving. Every morning the boat leaves for two dives, to Klein Bonaire or to the north, to sites that cannot be reached from shore. A guide leads the dive while a crew member stays on board. You are back around midday.

Courses. As a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center, Dive Friends takes you from a first introduction to diving all the way to instructor. A course starts on the day that suits you, with no minimum group size, in English, Dutch, German, Spanish or Italian.

Equipment. From BCD and regulator to dive computer and underwater camera, everything can be rented on site, so you can travel light.

Every diver on Bonaire begins with a short Marine Park orientation and a first dive on the house reef. If it has been more than a year since your last dive, Dive Friends will arrange a refresher with you. Reserving boat dives and courses in advance is recommended. As with every activity at sea, the STINAPA nature fee applies.

Snuba Bonaire

Discover Bonaire's underwater world, even without a diving certificate.

Beneath Bonaire's clear water lies a world full of colour, and with SNUBA you are in the middle of it after just a short briefing, even if you have never dived before. Aboard the catamaran Mushi Mushi you sail from Nautico Marina to a beautiful spot along the coast. There you slip into the water and breathe calmly through a regulator, while the tank floats along with you on a raft. Accompanied by a guide, with no more than four guests at a time, you drift among corals, colourful fish and perhaps even a turtle. You descend as deep as you wish, to as much as six metres.

Those who prefer to stay at the surface glide over the reef with a regulator and watch, without interruption, everything that passes beneath them. Snorkelling is possible too, so everyone in your party enjoys the trip in their own way. On the way back along the coast a drink and a sharing board await, with all the time in the world to relive together what you saw beneath the surface.

The trip lasts about four hours and all equipment is included. No diving experience is needed, as long as you can swim. As with every activity in the sea, the STINAPA nature fee applies.
