Fishing

Bonaire is surrounded by deep, clear water, and fishing is part of life on the island. From tuna on the open sea to bonefish in the lagoon, with someone who knows these waters like no one else.

Around Bonaire the water turns deep just off the coast, and few know it as well as Peter. He has been fishing all his life and is out on the water almost every day. Aboard one of his two fast boats you fish yourself, with first-class tackle and Peter's personal guidance. Whether you are holding a rod for the first time or have been fishing for years, you are in good hands with him.

Offshore sport fishing. A varied trip along the sheltered west coast: trolling for large ocean species, jigging along the reefs and drop-offs, and casting whenever fish are feeding at the surface.

Tuna at the buoys. Around the island lie buoys that draw small fish, and with them yellowfin, blackfin and other tuna. In Peter's view, the finest way to fish that Bonaire has to offer.

Topwater. For experienced anglers: casting poppers and stickbaits to tuna striking at the surface, with no more than four anglers on board.

Bonefish on the flats. On foot through the shallow, crystal-clear water of the lagoons at Sorobon and Lac Bay, sight fishing for bonefish. With no more than two guests, for entirely personal guidance.

Fishing often takes place at night as well, and Peter will always advise you on the moment that gives you the best chance of a big fish. A trip lasts four to ten hours, and any special wishes you simply discuss with him personally. Tackle and drinking water are on board, and whatever part of your catch you may keep is cleaned for you on your return, ready for dinner.
